ABOUT
I am a professor for ethics at Goethe University Frankfurt. My research focuses on normativity and foundational questions in moral philosophy and metaethics. I have also worked on issues in metaphysics and truthmaker semantics. Before coming to Frankfurt, I was a post-doctoral research assistant and lecturer at Bielefeld University.
VITA
I studied philosophy, mathematics, and education at the University of Hamburg (M.A. in philosophy 2019), where I also received my PhD in philosophy (2023). In my dissertation, I defend two novel interpretations of the is-ought gap, a logical and a metaphysical interpretation in terms of grounding. I worked as a doctoral researcher in the Emmy Noether project on relevance in Hamburg (08.2019-01.2023) and as a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer at the department of philosophy at Bielefeld University (02.2023.-09.25). I joined Goethe University Frankfurt in October 2025. Since 2023, I'm an affiliated member of the ERC project "REASONS F1RST: The Structure of Normativity".

Book: The Autonomy of Normativity, Routledge 2025
While the Is-Ought Gap has recently been a topic of growing interest, most contributions are firmly fixed on logical, often quite technical accounts of the autonomy thesis. This book defends two complementary autonomy theses—a modal and ground-based thesis—that provide a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the nature of normativity.
